Nicolas Duvernois is the founding president of PUR Vodka, the first ultra-premium vodka produced in Quebec and the most awardwinning Canadian vodka. After a few years of research and development, PUR Vodka was ranked the best vodka in the world at the prestigious Vodka Masters competition in London before even a single bottle was sold.
Today, PUR Vodka is available across Canada and considered one of the world’s finest vodkas by leading wine experts and mixologists, having won over 40 international prizes in the last five years.
Nicolas is a Quebec video game industry veteran. Programmer by training, he has nearly 20 years’ experience at Ubisoft. He helped found Ubisoft’s Montreal studio in 1997 and, in 2005, was tasked with setting up and managing the Quebec City studio. Recognized as a visionary, skilled manager and positive leader, Nicolas is still at the head of Ubisoft Quebec, which today boasts close to 400 developers and works on AAA projects.
Nicolas holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Université de Sherbrooke. He is dedicated to community involvement, in particular as member of the board of the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament and the Quebec City Board of Trade.
Serial entrepreneur, Dominic Gagnon dives head first into the business world at age 14 by creating one of the first Web agencies in Lac-Saint-Jean, Mediatech Communication. He’s President and CEO of IX Points, a company that aims to reinvent the learning process with first-year mandates with oil corporation Total, Intact and Coop Fédérée. He is alo President of EducExpert, world leader in the online training of firefighters. Mr. Gagnon also acts as special adviser and sits on the Board of Directors of Karelab, a company that has been part of the Profit 500 ranking for the past 3 years and which has also acquired one of its start-ups, Propulse.
René Proulx – Exceldor
Since 2006, Mr. Proulx is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Exceldor, a leader in the processing and marketing of poultry in Canada. With sales in excess of 700 M$ and 2250 employees, the organization processes, out of its plants and joint ventures in Quebec and Ontario, some 1,7 M chickens and turkeys every week, the equivalent of 200 Mkg annually. He’s also very active in various associations related to his professional responsibilities. Since 2011, he is a member of the board of directors of CAA Quebec, and he has held the position of vice-chairman of the board since 2013.
Marie-France Poulin – Groupe Camada et Kalia Inc.
Since the sale of Maax Inc. in 2004, which had sales of $640 million and 3,800 employees at the time, Ms. Poulin has held the position of Vice President of Camada Group, another family company specializing in investment in midsize business. During the same period, she started up the company Kalia with two members of her family in 2007 – an enterprise specialized in the design, manufacture and distribution of upscale products and accessories for bathrooms and kitchens. Ms. Poulin is an experienced director. She chairs the board of the Port of Québec, Université Laval and the YWCA Québec.
Since 2013, Evan Price serves as President and CEO of CO2 Solutions, a cleantech company listed on the TSX-V that provides technology to capture CO2 emissions from industrial sources. He’s a co-owner and director of Auberge Saint-Antoine, a Relais & Châteaux hotel property in Quebec City, and the Chic Shack restaurant. He is the Chairman of IOU Financial, a fintech company listed on the TSX-V, and a board member of Solifor, the largest private timberlands owner of Québec. Mr. Price is an engaged philanthropist. He is Chairman of the Monastère des Augustines and board member of the Rideau Hall Foundation. He is also a member of the Advisory Council of the Royal 22nd Regiment.
