Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Nova 5X if you play across several supported systems and want a single headset that can switch between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth for calls or media.
The USB-C dongle's broad compatibility is especially useful when your gaming device changes by room or activity.
It also suits players who prioritize long intervals between charges and access to game audio presets. The on-ear controls and retractable microphone add practical convenience for switching between gaming and everyday listening.
Who should skip it
Skip it if active noise cancellation is a must-have, or if you need a headset with a swappable spare battery to avoid stopping for charging. Those are priorities to confirm before buying for long sessions in noisy surroundings.
Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Connection flexibility for mixed setups
The dual wireless approach addresses two common uses: 2.4GHz for gaming and Bluetooth for calls or media. A single-button switch keeps the handoff simple, while the USB-C dongle expands the headset's reach across consoles, computers, and portable devices.
Buyers should still check that their own system is among the supported platforms before purchasing.
Battery and charging tradeoff
A 60-hour battery rating is a useful fit for frequent play, and a short USB-C charge is positioned as a way to get back to use quickly.
These figures make charging convenience a central part of the proposition, though actual runtime varies with use and settings.
Presets and control access
The headset offers 100+ game audio presets through the Arctis Nova 5 Companion App, with on-ear buttons for power, mute, volume, ChatMix game and audio balance, and Quick-Switch to Bluetooth.
Consider whether you’ll use the presets and on-headset controls in your routine.
Microphone expectations
The retractable ClearCast microphone and its high-bandwidth chipset give the headset a communication-focused feature set.
That specification is not a guarantee of call quality in every environment; buyers who often call outdoors should verify performance in windy conditions before relying on it.

Choose the Nova 3P if mobile-app control and its fast-charge and battery figures better match your priorities. The Nova 5X is the fit when Xbox support and its 60-hour battery rating matter more.
- The Nova 3P offers mobile app control, more than 200 game presets, fast charging that provides up to nine hours of playback after 15 minutes, and up to 40 hours from a full charge.
- The Nova 5X includes Xbox in its platform support and has a 60-hour battery rating.
Is Arctis Nova 5X Worth It?
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X is worth considering for multi-platform players who want one wireless headset for console, PC, and mobile use.
Its combination of broad dongle support, Bluetooth switching, game presets, and on-headset controls is well suited to varied everyday gaming setups.
The 60-hour battery rating and fast-charge option strengthen its convenience case, while the lack of a stated noise-cancellation feature makes it a less direct match for buyers who need that function.
If the listed platform support and wireless modes fit your devices, the Nova 5X is a sensible feature-led choice; confirm outdoor microphone needs before relying on it for frequent calls.
